Alexander Volk was born in November 1985 in Austria, he is married and father of 2 children. After obtaining a PhD in technical physics, he spend his professional career in industry, transferring from technical roles into business responsibility. Currently he is employed in semiconductor industry in a marketing role for innovative business fields.
Alexander first started to shoot at the age of 13, inspired and mentored by his father. After learning the basics with iron sights, he soon moved to Open Division and started to compete at the age of 16. Since then he never lost fun with the sports.
During his IPSC time, Alex was able to win 6 Austrian National Championships in Open Division, claiming more than 50 Podiums in L3 matches and winning several. In 2014 Alex met James at the World Shoot in Florida and learned about Shield Sights for the first time. Since then he has been using Shield sights exclusively on his Open guns.
After a pause from shooting in 2020, Alex returned to the game in late 2021, changing to Production Optics Division and keeps on having fun since then.
